What would you do in an emergency?
10th March 2025Lets meet Anna from Mini First Aid
As parents, we do everything we can to keep our little ones safe, but accidents and illnesses can happen when we least expect them. The real question is—would you know what to do in an emergency?
Meet Anna – Your Mini First Aid Expert
Hi, I’m Anna, the owner of Mini First Aid Cambridge. With a background as an ICU nurse and as a mum of two, I know firsthand how unpredictable childhood can be. From minor bumps and bruises to more serious situations, I understand how crucial it is for parents and caregivers to feel confident in handling emergencies. That’s why I am so passionate about providing first aid training that fits in with family life.
At Mini First Aid Cambridge, we offer a two-hour class covering all the essentials—CPR, dealing with choking, and recognising the signs of sepsis. Our workshops run regularly in various locations, and we also offer private sessions in the comfort of your own home. Whether you’re a new parent, grandparent, or caregiver, we have a session that will work for you!
Be Prepared – Top Tips for Handling Emergencies
One of the first things we teach in our sessions is the importance of being prepared. Here are a few simple but essential steps you can take today:
✅ Have a First Aid Kit – Keep a well-stocked first aid kit at home and consider carrying one with you when you’re out and about. Check and restock it regularly so you’re never caught off guard.
✅ Know Your Nearest A&E – Familiarise yourself with the quickest route to your nearest hospital and where to park in case of an emergency. Every second counts!
✅ Trust Your Instincts – As parents, we have an incredible ability to sense when something isn’t right with our children. If your little one is unwell or has had an accident and you feel that something is wrong, always seek medical advice as soon as possible.
✅ Take a First Aid Course – The best way to prepare for an emergency is to equip yourself with the knowledge and confidence to act fast when needed. Learning first aid could make all the difference in a life-threatening situation.
